Let's take a minute to talk about watts:

  1. A watt is a unit of energy.
  2. 1,000 was, about the consumption of a microwave, is equivalent to 1 kilowatt power.
  3. If you use 1,000 watts for an hour, your total usage would be 1 kilowatt hour or 1kWh.
  4. Solar panels are priced in terms of their optimum output. So a 500 watt panels might cost $0.15 per watt or $75 (shipping and taxes are added later).
